Updates for the Plex Media Server software package are issued periodically, and they are announced in an orange bar at the top fo the screen when logged into the main administration account Plex God.
Login to the Plex God account at plex.tv (see LastPass for PIN code)
New updates are announced with an orange bar at the top of the screen
Click to download the new version, and save it on your local computer
In a new tab, login to your Cloudforest account at quickconnect.to/cloudforest
In the drop down menu open the Package Center application
Click on the Plex Media Server application
Select Stop from the Actions menu
Click the Manual Install button at the top of the screen
Select the update file you just downloaded from Plex
Follow the instructions to install the package
When it is installed, select Run from the Actions menu
First, check what version of Plex Media Server is installed on Cloudforest:
From any browser login using an administrator account to Cloudforest at quickconnect.to/Cloudforest
Click on the menu (top left) and click on Packages app
Scroll down to the PLEX Media Server in the Installed Packages list.
The version number is displayed in the format n.n.n.nnnn-nnnnnnnnn
To update to the latest version of Plex Media Server manually:
Go to the Plex Download web page
Select Plex Pass Downloads (if not already selected)
If asked to login to Plex, use me@glenlancaster.com and see Laspass for Plex God password.
Select NAS, then Synology and then Intel
Check that the version number is greater than the one currently installed
Save the file in Google Drive > Glen Lancaster (Me) > Software > Plex
From any browser login using an administrator account to Cloudforest at quickconnect.to/Cloudforest
Click on the menu (top left) and click on Packages app
Click for the PLEX Media Server in the Installed Packages list.
Click Manual Update
Select the file you just downloaded.
