Install ACDSee Pro

To install the software:

• 1. Insert the ACDSee Pro installation CD (hand written).

  3. Open folder Install on the CD and open file: acdseepro-2-238-en (Build 238 of version 2)

  5. Follow the install dialog to install version 2, and enter the Serial Number: D2QDVH-3348T-3SLM8D-HQ7TXZJ

  7. Once version 2 is installed, close the program, and upgrade to version 2.5 as follows.

  9. Open folder Updates on the CD and open file: acdseepro-2-5-258-en (Build 258 of version 2.5)

  11. Follow the install dialog to install version 2.5

  13. When version 2.5 starts you will be asked if you want to convert the database, say yes.

At this point you have version 2.5 installed but the software has created a new catalog database and is not using our existing database. Our database is located on the laptop disk drive because the program is too slow if it uses the database off the network drive.

The database is located at:D:DATA/ACDSee Database/Default

To change ACDSee to use our database instead of the default blank installed one:

• 1. Open ACDSee.

  3. Select Options from the Tools menu.

  5. Select Database from the dialog box.

  7. Click on the browse button on the right of the current database location.

  9. In the Browse for Folder dialog box that will open, navigate to the folder located at: D:DATA/ACDSee Database/Default.

  11. Click Open on the dialog box to select the new database location.

  13. Click OK on the Options box to accept the change.

  15. ACDSee will require you to re-start the program for the change to become effective.

Next time you open ACDsee it will use the our existing Database catalog, which means that in the Organize tab you will see our catalog entries for photos.
